Visit China with Allen

Coming to China? Come with a local friend, not just a guidebook.

Who this is for

  • First-time visitors who want someone local to walk with, not a big tour group
  • People who have been learning Chinese and want to try it out in real life
  • Anyone curious about Tai Chi who would like to practise in a park, slowly, with a real person

What a day can look like

  1. Walk — a neighbourhood, a market, or a park, at a slow pace, with time to stop and ask.
  2. Eat — order together, try what local people actually eat, and learn the words as you eat.
  3. Practise — use the Chinese you know, or the one phrase you just learned today. Mistakes are welcome.
  4. Move — a little Tai Chi in the park, if you like. Ten minutes is enough.

Where, when, and how long are not fixed yet — tell Allen where you are going and when, and he will tell you honestly whether he can guide you there or help you plan it. Allen is not a travel agency: no visa help, no hotel booking, just a local friend.

How to ask

Contact Allen and include:

  1. Where you are going in China, and when
  2. How many days you have, and who is coming with you
  3. What you most want — food, culture, language practice, Tai Chi, or just a relaxed walk
  4. Your Chinese level — none is fine. None is the most common answer, and it is welcome.

Everything on this site is free for now. A local guide is a personal arrangement, not a listed course — Allen will reply about what is possible, and what is not, before anything is promised.
